Darn it. For my birthday supper this weekend I was going to order beef burritos from Chipotle and have it washed down with Mt Dew. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I would like to say that I take the stairs everyday but I don't. I take the elevator up and the stairs back down. With the setup of the building, its way too hard to take the stairs. I agree that most buildings are built around the elevators. Could be why our society is suffering from obesity. One of my favorite images is the one where the club members are taking the escalator up to the 24-hour fitness club. Priceless!

The problem with most office buildings (and commercial buildings taller than two stories in general) is that the stairs are almost impossible to find). Elevators are just more convenient. Convenience is king, unfortunately.

That being said, the only times I've used the elevator in the two years I've worked here (I work on the 3rd floor) are when I was carrying something or using a hand truck or if I was in a discussion with someone on the way in or out the door.

6 pounds in a month is awesome! Keep it up. The holidays are always the hardest time to try and lose weight but it can be done. Would love to hear back from you on how you fair this month.

Coke did a great job in advertising Vitamin Water. People think that just because it has the word Vitamin in it, it must be healthy. People forget about the sugar. Does that Aquafina product that you drink have the fiber in it or do you have those fiber packets that you dump in the water? I have a friend that uses the packets and loves it. Its a great way to get fiber if your diet is lacking in some areas.

I loved your question about the elevator! The problem with my building is that the stairs located at the entrance where I come are security protected. You can take the stairs between floors and to get out but you cant access them from the outside. I almost always take the stairs when I can.

that's an interesting link, i'm making an effort to get back in shape - i've got a long way to go, but i did drop about 6 pounds last month, if i can do the same this month i'll have a good jump on the new year.
2 things to comment on:
1) the site you link to has a post about vitamin water from coke with lots of sugar - i'm amazed how many people don't real labels; recently i've been drinking a water from augafina (pepsi product) that has fiber. what do you think, is that an ok way to get your daily fiber?
2) keeping in mind that your in shape and i'm not, why do you use an elevator at work (2 post down) and not just walk up the stairs? i spend a lot of nights in hotels and always use the stairs unless i above the 6th floor.
